Christian Jewish Relations, the Second Vatican Council, and Nostra Aetate

A Conversation between Samuel Loncar and Daniel Joslyn-Siemiatkoski, Kraft Family Professor and Director of the Center for Christian-Jewish Learning at Boston College

In this episode, we share a conversation between our Editor-in-Chief. Dr. Samuel Loncar, philosopher and scholar of religion, and Dr. Daniel Joslyn-Siemiatkoski, the Kraft Family Professor and Director of the Center for Christian-Jewish Learning at Boston College.

They discuss Christianity’s relationship towards Judaism, the academic value of theology as a field of inquiry, and the 60th Anniversary of The Second Vatican Council's declaration, Nostra Aetate, a groundbreaking evolution in the Christian understanding of Judaism, which took place on October 28, 1965.

The Center for Jewish Christian Understanding at Marginalia Review of Books is a project grounded in original research on the historical roots of modern antisemitism and promoting paths towards peace through scholarship.
